Measuring made easy

Is My Dog Small, Medium or Large?

🐕

Small

Up to 10kg
e.g. Jack Russell, Dachshund, Shih Tzu

🐕‍🦺

Medium

10–25kg
e.g. Cocker Spaniel, Border Collie, Staffie

🦮

Large

Over 25kg
e.g. Labrador, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever

Tip: doses are based on a proper measuring teaspoon (5ml), not a kitchen spoon from the cutlery drawer, which can vary a lot in size. A "level" teaspoon means scraped flat across the top. If your dog sits between two sizes, ask Elaine and she'll guide you.

The gentle way

Why Herbal Powders?

Many conventional medicines are built around a single, isolated or synthetic compound, designed to act quickly and strongly on one part of the body. They have an important place, and your vet should always be your first port of call for illness or injury. But for everyday wellbeing and long-term support, more and more owners are looking for something gentler.

Herbal powders work differently. Each blend is made from whole, dried plants, which naturally contain a balance of many compounds working together. Rather than forcing a single change, herbs are traditionally used to nourish and support the body's own natural processes, gently and gradually.

🌿 Whole-herb powders

  • Made from whole, recognisable plants
  • A natural balance of compounds working together
  • Support the body gently and gradually
  • Given as part of a daily meal, like food
  • Suitable for long-term, everyday use

💊 Many conventional medicines

  • Often a single isolated or synthetic compound
  • Strong, targeted action on one area
  • Designed to work fast
  • Usually given as a tablet or injection
  • Can come with side effects to manage

Why so many owners are making the change

🔍 Knowing what's in the bowl

Owners want ingredients they can recognise and pronounce. Our labels list real herbs, like nettle, chamomile and dandelion.

💖 Caring for the whole dog

A holistic approach looks at diet, lifestyle and wellbeing together, rather than treating one symptom in isolation.

👴 Supporting older dogs

Gentle daily support is a natural fit for senior dogs, whose systems often need a softer touch.

🇬🇧 Made with care, close to home

Small-batch, hand-blended remedies from a herbalist of 40+ years, not a factory line.

Herbs and your vet work best together. Our remedies are made to support your dog's natural wellbeing alongside, never instead of, your vet's care. If your dog is on medication, please check with your vet before adding a new supplement.

Step by step

How To Give Your Powder

  1. Check your dose. Use the product finder above, or the label on your pouch, for the right amount for your dog's size.
  2. Use a dry spoon. Moisture is the enemy of dried herbs, so never dip a wet spoon into the pouch.
  3. Start gently if your dog is sensitive. For dogs with delicate tummies, give half the dose for the first few days, then build up.
  4. Mix it in well. Stir the powder thoroughly through your dog's meal so they can't pick around it.
  5. Same time, every day. Linking it to a meal makes it easy to remember, and consistency is what makes herbs work.

Got a fussy eater?

🍯 Honey paste

Mix the dose with a little honey to make a paste. Most dogs happily lick it from a spoon.

🥣 Wet food or yoghurt

Stir the powder into a spoonful of wet food or plain natural yoghurt first, then add to the meal.

✂️ Split it

Divide the daily dose between breakfast and dinner if your dog notices a full dose in one meal.

Patience pays

What To Expect

Herbs work with the body, not against it, so changes tend to build gradually. Here's a typical journey.

🌱 Weeks 1–2

Your dog settles into the routine. Many owners notice the first small changes within 1–2 weeks of consistent use.

🌿 Weeks 2–8

The benefits build as the herbs work cumulatively. One 70g pouch typically lasts 4–8 weeks, depending on your dog's size.

🌳 Ongoing

Many of our blends are designed for long-term daily support, helping your dog stay at their best through every season.

Keep a little diary. On day one, jot down how your dog is doing: energy, coat, appetite, mobility, mood, toilet habits. Check back every couple of weeks. Changes can be so gradual that it's easy to forget how things were.

Your questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I missed a dose. What should I do?

Don't worry. Just carry on with the normal dose at the next meal. There's no need to double up.

Can I give more than one powder at a time?

Many of our blends can be combined, and some come together in our bundles. As every dog is different, please ask Elaine before combining powders and she'll advise on the best plan.

Can I give it alongside my vet's medication?

Herbs can interact with some medicines, so if your dog is on any medication, please check with your vet before starting a herbal powder.

Is it suitable for puppies?

Some of our powders include a puppy dose, which you'll see in the product finder above. If yours doesn't, please ask Elaine before giving it to a puppy.

Can I give it to a pregnant or nursing dog?

Only use products from our Pregnancy Range during pregnancy and nursing, unless your vet or Elaine advises otherwise.

How long should I keep giving it?

It depends on the blend and your dog. Some are designed for a course, others for long-term daily support. Check your product details above, or ask Elaine for a personal recommendation.

My dog won't eat it. Any tips?

Try the honey paste, mix it into wet food or yoghurt, or split the dose across two meals. Starting with a smaller amount and building up also helps dogs get used to the taste.

Please note: always check with your vet before starting a new supplement if your dog is pregnant, nursing, has a health condition or is on medication. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease and are not a substitute for professional veterinary care.
