🌿 Our remedies

What’s the difference between your herbal powders and homeopathic drops?

Herbal powders are blends of dried herbs and plant ingredients that you mix into your dog’s food. Homeopathic drops are traditional remedies prepared from highly diluted natural substances and given as drops. Our Herbs & Homeopathy guide explains both in more detail.

Who makes your remedies?

Elaine, The Dog Herbalist, who has over 40 years of experience caring for dogs and founded the business in 2012. Every herbal powder is blended by hand in small batches in Shropshire, and our homeopathic drops are prepared with the guidance of our homeopathic consultant.

What’s in them?

Natural, human-grade ingredients, organic where possible, and sourced from trusted UK suppliers wherever we can. There are no fillers. You’ll find the full ingredients and directions at the top of each product page.

How do I know which remedy is right for my dog?

Take our 1-minute remedy quiz, or type what you’ve noticed into the search bar on our homepage. If you’d still like a hand, email Elaine at elaine@thedogherbalist.co.uk.

How do I give them to my dog?

Herbal powders are mixed into your dog’s food, and homeopathic drops are given as drops. The amount depends on the product and your dog’s size, so please follow the directions on each product page.

Can I use them alongside my vet’s treatment?

Our remedies are made to support your dog’s natural wellbeing alongside, never instead of, your vet’s care. Please speak to your vet before starting anything new if your dog is on medication or has an ongoing health condition, and never stop prescribed treatment.

Are they suitable for puppies, older dogs or pregnant dogs?

We have dedicated Puppy, Senior and Pregnancy ranges. Please check each product page, and if your dog is pregnant or nursing, speak to your vet before starting anything new.

Can I use more than one remedy at a time?

Yes, many owners pair a herbal powder with homeopathic drops. Our bundles put two complementary remedies together for less. If you’re unsure what to combine, just ask Elaine.

How long before I notice a difference?

Every dog is different. Natural care works best as part of a steady daily routine, so we suggest giving it a few weeks and keeping a little note of how your dog seems. If you have any questions along the way, get in touch.
